The guitars
Even though I haven't been playing six strings for very long, I've modified most of my off-the-shelf guitars to suit my own taste.
Then I got the bug and decided to have a go at building my own.
However, I've had a few demons to overcome, not least the long-held belief that I'm useless at woodwork. I blame this on a non-motivational teacher when I was at secondary school. He was the sort that only seemed to have words of encouragement for those that least needed it - the ones who were already gifted in the subject he was supposed to teach.
Up to the beginning of March 2008, my modifications had been limited to simply altering the electrics and changing parts around with only minimal sawdust generation.
The one main exception to this was FrankenTele. But that started life as a "not terribly good" kit, so I figured that I had little to lose if it all went pants while I was working on it. However, Frank has turned into a remarkable guitar, as well as spurring me on and giving me the confidence to get a bit deeper into this magical home-build hobby.
