At time of writing this (July 2010), there are three projects currently underway. A travel guitar and two "rock" electrics. More details soon...
The DDZS "Shortarse"
Currently sat on the drawingboard. The plan is to take a donor guitar (in this case, a Squier Strat), rob the neck and electrics off it, then build a short-bodied travel guitar along the lines of the Hofner "Shorty". At the moment, most of the components for the build are assembled. All that remains is to take delivery of the donor Strat...
This particular project is for Marc (ZombieSheep), hence the "ZS" in its name. Body will be maple, and it's going to have a wrapover bridge. Other than that, we'll wait and see what develops.
"Oneiros"
Started out as a whittling exercise. This is going to be a 24-fret "rocker" with a Floyd Rose. The body is cut out and awaiting the next stages of routing. Already "sold", this one is going to be for Andy (thetenthplace) when it's finished.
"DDPHS"
After parting with what was going to be my own guitar when it became the PCS, I earmarked some components for myself. This cherry-bodied beast is very definitely going to be for me! the body is still taking shape, but I'm pretty much carving it by hand, so it's taking forever!
"DDT"
My own attempt at a Telecaster Thinline. Not really a current project anymore, but it was only finished a few weeks ago (June 2010). There's still a little bit of tidying up work to do around the f-hole binding. Other than that, it's a blinding guitar! It has all the mojo I hoped for when I started building it.
