I am, and they're not

Funnily enough I have just come back from my mates house (whose children we are talking about) and one of the boys was much more interested in Forza (version whatever) that he had for his xBox. I had a quick chat about he was getting on and he hasn't played for weeks - nor has his brother apparently. I asked why not and it turns out guitar is just not the flavour of the month. I said that it is always harder intially and talked about what a buzz it can be when you get it right, but right now I think xBox is taking priority.

I will keep my ear to the ground and hopefully when they are back into guitar again, I can try again.

That's a shame! But that's what kids are like. ;)

I remember when my younger daughter was a preteen wanting to learn piano, she gave up in disgust after about twenty minutes. Her reasoning was that she "couldn't do it!". She fully expected to be able to play fluently as soon as she sat down in front of it - and no amount of persuasion would change her mind.

Leaving her to come back to it herself proved the best option. Given time, the lads may decide to pick it up again. And it's much easier to leave a guitar lying around somewhere to hand than it is a piano. ;)
