I rewired her again last night with new pots. I finished off all the wiring and tested her out and it was working fine but then I tried it again after I tightened all the nuts and screwed everything back in place and no sound was coming out at all. I opened her up again and checked for any bad connections but couldn't find any that is when I noticed that the lug of the tone pot was resting against the copper foil that is shielding my control cavity. I moved the pot away from the side of the cavity and tightened it back up. I tried her again and everything is now working okay.
I think it must have been the same problem as to why the volume kept cutting out before. Maybe the pot was slightly touching on the side of the cavity which caused it to short out when I turned the volume pot
. I'm just glad that she is now working
